Why Gandhi Health & Wellness

A medical approach to skin renewal

Chemical peels work best when matched precisely to your skin. Our practitioner-guided approach means your peel is selected based on clinical assessment, not guesswork.

Practitioner-guided protocols

Every peel protocol is reviewed and prescribed by our physician, Dr. Gandhi, alongside her dedicated team of practitioners. Your skin type, Fitzpatrick scale, and active concerns all factor into peel selection.

Measured outcomes

We set clear skin goals before treatment and track progress across sessions, so you can see what's changing and why. Objective documentation is part of every protocol.

Integrated skin health

We look at your skin in the context of your whole health, including hormones, nutrition, and lifestyle, because internal factors drive many skin concerns that peels alone cannot fully resolve.

A structured process from assessment to results

A structured process from assessment to results

Skin assessment

We review your skin type, Fitzpatrick classification, active concerns, history of prior treatments, medications that may affect healing, and any contraindications. This step determines whether a chemical peel is appropriate and which formulation fits your skin.

Protocol selection

Dr. Gandhi selects peel depth, acid type, and concentration based on the assessment. For some patients, a preparatory skincare regimen in the weeks before the peel improves outcomes and lowers the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

The peel treatment

The skin is cleansed and prepared, then the acid solution is applied in a controlled manner. Application time varies by formulation and depth. You may experience warmth, tingling, or mild stinging during the procedure. Most sessions take 30 to 60 minutes.

Recovery guidance

You receive specific aftercare instructions tailored to your peel depth, including what to apply, what to avoid, and what to expect during the days following treatment. Sun protection is essential throughout the healing period.

Follow-up and optimization

We track your skin’s response and refine the protocol for subsequent sessions. Many patients benefit from a series of peels scheduled at appropriate intervals rather than a single treatment.

Who It's For

Good candidates for chemical peels

Chemical peels work well for adults seeking measurable improvement in skin texture, tone, and the visible signs of aging or acne, when applied at the appropriate depth for their skin type and concerns.

  • Uneven skin tone or texture
  • Fine lines around the eyes and mouth
  • Sun-damaged or photoaged skin
  • Mild to moderate acne or acne scarring
  • Melasma, hyperpigmentation, or dark spots
  • Dull, rough, or congested skin
  • Early signs of aging as a preventive measure
  • Patients wanting a non-invasive resurfacing option

Not every peel is appropriate for every skin type. Patients with darker skin tones (Fitzpatrick IV through VI) require careful peel selection to minimize the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Deeper peels carry more risk and require longer recovery. Your physician assessment takes all of these factors into account before recommending any treatment. We do not proceed with a peel if the clinical picture does not support it.

Conditions that may affect candidacy

Active cold sores or skin infections, pregnancy, recent Accutane use, open wounds or active inflammatory skin conditions, and certain autoimmune conditions may be contraindications or require modified protocols. Disclose your full health history during your consultation.

Consultation Requirements

While initial consultations can be completed via telehealth. In-person visits are required for the peel treatment and follow-up skin assessments.

FAQs

How many treatments will I need?

It depends on your skin concern and peel depth. A single medium or deep peel can produce significant improvement. Superficial peels are often performed as a series of four to six treatments spaced two to four weeks apart. Dr. Gandhi will outline a realistic treatment plan at your consultation.

Most patients describe a warming or tingling sensation during the peel, which subsides quickly after the solution is neutralized or removed. Deeper peels may cause more noticeable discomfort. We discuss what to expect for your specific peel before treatment.

Chemical peels can complement other aesthetic and wellness treatments, including our regenerative aesthetics and IV therapy offerings. However, combining modalities requires careful timing and medical judgment. Dr. Gandhi will advise on safe sequencing based on your full treatment plan.

Superficial peels may cause subtle flaking or dryness that is easy to manage. Medium peels typically produce visible peeling and skin shedding over several days. Deep peels involve a more pronounced shedding phase. Peeling is part of the renewal process and should not be forced or picked.

Results from a single treatment can last months, though ongoing sun exposure and aging continue to affect the skin. A maintenance plan with periodic superficial peels and a physician-recommended skincare regimen helps preserve and build on your results over time.
