Many patients who come to us have already tried the basics. They are eating well, exercising, managing stress, and yet they still struggle with fatigue, brain fog, or a body that simply will not recover. For patients dealing with complex conditions like mold toxicity, Lyme disease, Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), cytomegalovirus (CMV), long COVID, or environmental toxin burden, the answer may lie in what is happening at the blood and cellular level.

That is why we’re excited to introduce Extracorporeal Blood Oxygenation and Ozonation (EBO2) therapy at Gandhi Health & Wellness this June, offered under the guidance of a provider who specializes in these complex, chronic cases.

Medical Ozone stimulates what is known as the NrF2 pathway in the body, which is the master regulator of antioxidant, detoxification, and cell defense gene expression. Stimulating the pathway vitalizes the immune system and improves overall health.

Ozone has also been shown to stimulate mitochondria and help balance NAD levels in the body. This infuses energy into the body’s cells and creates an anti-aging effect.

What Is EBO2 and how does it work?

EBO2 is an advanced blood purification therapy combining three mechanisms in a single session: filtration, ozonation, and UV light therapy. Through two IV lines, blood is drawn out, passed through a medical-grade filtration and ozonation system, exposed to multiple wavelengths of therapeutic light, and returned to the body, all within a closed circuit.

A critical distinction from standard ozone therapy is volume and comprehensiveness. Conventional ozone IV approaches treat a relatively small fraction of circulating blood using ozone alone. EBO2 processes a much larger volume.

One of the most clinically significant aspects of this therapy is what happens outside the body. The external filtration step physically captures and removes waste that the body struggles to clear on its own, including mycotoxins, heavy metals, inactive proteins, and cellular debris.

Because this burden is collected in the filter rather than mobilized through the liver and kidneys, patients tend to react positively to the detoxification process.

The UV light component adds targeted antimicrobial and cellular support. Different wavelengths serve different functions. For example, UV light addresses pathogens directly, red light supports mitochondrial function and circulation, and blue light helps modulate immune activity and reduce inflammatory signaling.

Who may benefit from EBO2?

EBO2 is not intended as a one-size-fits-all wellness therapy. At Gandhi Health & Wellness, it is used as a provider-guided treatment approach for patients seeking support for complex or chronic health concerns.

  • Patients commonly explore EBO2 therapy for:
  • Chronic fatigue and post-viral recovery
  • Brain fog and cognitive fatigue
  • Inflammatory and autoimmune conditions
  • Circulatory and cardiovascular support
  • Mold exposure and environmental stressors
  • Recovery and performance optimization
  • Healthy aging and longevity-focused wellness

Treatment plans are tailored to each patient. Most patients are scheduled for three to four visits per year, though cases involving specific conditions, such as Epstein-Barr virus or mold, may require three consecutive weekly sessions as tolerated.

Because every patient’s health history and physiology are different, consultation and individualized assessment are essential before beginning therapy.
